A Palestinian-American adolescent having endured a nine-month period in Israeli detention without charge has been freed.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested this past winter within the occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing on holiday from Florida for allegedly throwing stones against settlement residents, claims he consistently denied.
The US state department applauded Mohammed's liberation.
Currently aged sixteen, needed medical care right after being freed, according to close relatives.
Family described him as visibly pale and thin, while battling health issues developed during imprisonment.
Via family representatives, the youth's uncle conveyed their "overwhelming sense of relief".
The uncle, Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "living a horrific and endless nightmare" during the entire detention period.
"At this moment, we are focused on ensuring Mohammed receives prompt healthcare he requires after being subjected to mistreatment by authorities and brutal treatment over several months."
US officials said it would continue to offer diplomatic assistance to the teenager's relatives.
{"The Trump Administration considers paramount than the safety and security for United States citizens"," the department emphasized.
Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to the state department and the administration, requesting additional efforts for his freedom.
Mohammed's parent, with four children operating an ice cream shop from Florida, had earlier stated his child admitted guilt about rock throwing because the soldiers beat him.
He had not seen or spoken to Mohammed following the detention, and only heard about his son's condition in detention through court documents.
He stayed absent formal charges at Ofer detention facility throughout the occupied territory.
Additionally housing mature inmates, including individuals found guilty of serious terrorism offences and homicide.
An estimated 350 Palestinian child security detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, based on prison authority data.
Many have never been charged along with monitoring agencies, as well as the United Nations, say some have suffered mistreatment and torture.
Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said the family would also continue fighting for justice for his cousin family member Sayfollah.
