The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. This surprise role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the prestigious Top Game award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Enhancing the studio's triumph, the gifted cast also received personal awards. Jennifer English won Outstanding Lead Performance for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Supporting Performance Award for his role as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio was honored as Top Studio. In total, Clair Obscur and its makers collected seven awards throughout the event.
Other standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Best PC Game. It is important to note, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the audience, with only 4 categories—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers' Favorite—judged by experts.
