'Living a Nightmare': Families of Unaccounted For Teens Desperately Seek News After Ski Resort Blaze

16-year-old Swiss teenager a young man from Switzerland is one of those unaccounted for.

The families of young people unaccounted for after a deadly blaze at a venue in a Switzerland's winter destination are enduring an agonising period of uncertainty for official news and appealing for any details about their family members via social media.

The blaze ripped through the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of the first day of the year. Confirmed images depict the roof structure being engulfed in flames as beverages with fireworks are held aloft.

Officials have warned that it could take considerable time to identify the fatalities of the fire, which claimed the lives of four dozen individuals and wounded another 119. Authorities noted on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with work still underway to locate the other six.

In the waiting period, loved ones have been posting on online platforms to request information about their loved ones who were present at the venue that night.

Desperate Searches for the Missing

The whereabouts of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are still unconfirmed, according to an appeal from his parent.

The resident of a town near Lausanne, informed a publication that she had returned to the city to check whether he was in the hospital, while his other parent did the same in Bern, but could not find him.

"This is a living nightmare, a nightmare. The options are finding my son in the morgue, or I find him in intensive care. It's terrible," she told the paper.

She added that some of his companions had been discovered with injuries covering nearly half their bodies. "It's indescribable; they endured a terrifying ordeal."

The Italy's foreign ministry has indicated that a number of of its nationals have not been located.

Teenage sportsman Emanuele Galeppini, sixteen, was last heard from around midnight on December 31st, his father said.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old sportsman, who hailed from Italy but now residing in Dubai.

The Italian Golf Federation has stated that he is no longer with us, without mentioning the tragedy, honoring a "young athlete who embodied dedication and authentic values."

His parent, reportedly stated that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around midnight. An official spokesperson has stated that a official announcement of his death is not yet.

Further Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also unaccounted for. His parent told reporters that he had been on holiday but had gone out with friends and ended up at the bar.

"A companion said they escaped after the fire broke out and that he had his phone with him, but then at a certain point he they were separated," she said, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his educators stated, "I've always been struck by his good nature and positive demeanor, combined with great maturity. Every time ask if help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Swiss and Greek nationality but lives permanently in Switzerland, was also at the bar on New Year's Eve, according to reports.

Her brother has published an appeal online, saying the family has had "no information" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.

Consular authorities from her other nation say they are continuing to monitor the developments.
