'The worst of all time': Trump lashes out at Time magazine's 'super bad' cover picture.

This is a positive feature in a periodical that the president has consistently praised – except for one issue. The front-page image, Trump declared, ""might be the most terrible in history".

Time's praise to Donald Trump's part in facilitating a Gaza ceasefire, leading its 10 November issue, was accompanied by a image of the president shot from a low angle and with the sun behind his head.

The outcome, the president asserts, is ""terrible".

"The publication wrote a fairly positive story about me, but the image may be the Worst of All Time", Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“My hair was erased, and then there was something floating my head that appeared as a suspended diadem, but extremely small. Truly strange! I have consistently disliked being photographed from below, but this is a awful image, and it deserves to be called out. Why did they choose this, and why?”

Trump has made obvious his ambition to feature on Time magazine's front page and did so multiple times in the past year. The obsession has reached his golf courses – in 2017, the editors demanded to remove fake issues shown in several of his venues.

This issue's photograph was captured by a photographer for Bloomberg at the White House on 5 October.

The shot's viewpoint did no favours for Trump’s chin and neck – an opportunity that the governor of California Newsom took advantage of, with his communications team posting a modified photo with the criticized section obscured.

{The hostages from Israel held in Gaza have been released under the opening part of the president's diplomatic initiative, in exchange for a release of Palestinian detainees. The arrangement might turn into a signature achievement of Trump's second term, and it could mark a strategic turning point for that part of the world.

Simultaneously, a defence of his portrayal has been offered by unusual quarters: the director of information at Moscow's diplomatic office came forward to condemn the "revealing" image choice.

It's remarkable: a photograph exposes those who picked it than about the person in it. Only sick people, people filled with spite and resentment –maybe even degenerates – could have selected such an image", Maria Zakharova shared on Telegram.

In light of the positive pictures of Biden that that magazine used on the cover, even with his age-related challenges, the situation is self-revealing for Time", she added.

The response to the president's inquiries – why did they choose this, and why? – might involve innovatively depicting a feeling of authority says a picture editor, a media professional.

The photograph technically is well-executed," she explains. "They chose this shot because they wanted the president to look commanding. Staring up at someone evokes a feeling of their grandeur and Trump’s face actually looks contemplative and almost a bit ethereal. It's uncommon you see photos of Trump in such a peaceful state – the image has a softness to it."

His hair seems to vanish because the rear illumination has bleached that section of the image, producing a glowing aura, she says. Even though the article's title complements his facial expression in the image, "it's impossible to satisfy the subject matter."

Few people appreciate being shot from underneath, and even if all of the thematic components of the image are highly effective, the aesthetics are unflattering."

The publication reached out to the periodical for feedback.
