The Belarusian player finished the season with an outstanding twenty-three to three Grand Slam win-loss record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive year.

The twenty-seven-year-old won four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Season of Consistency

Across the season, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The star player also won the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the top-ranked player, ending 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.

Record-Breaking Numbers

Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a 63-12 match record, and picked up a historic eleven million pounds in earnings.

She garnered almost 80% of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a greater prominence".

  • Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova was named after advancing to five finals.
